Butyls
an initial barrier referred to as the sealing barrier is created by inserting a bead of sealant between the spacer and the glass panes, usually composed of butyl or polyisobutylene which offers particularly high performance to seal out water vapor or gas. 
  • Use in CEKAL-certified insulating glazing
Butyls must be subjected to a long ageing test with UVs and with gas in insulating glazing, as per the CEKAL rule and with a condensate detection test.
